Experience Japan Pictograms is a novel set of visual symbols developed by Nippon Design Center to enhance the tourism experience in Japan for people of all cultures and ages. Designed under the key concept of a "second encounter with Japan," these pictograms invite visitors to explore and enjoy Japan a little deeper than before. The collection spans 8 categories - History, Culture, Nature, Food, Stay, Landmark, Mobility, and Basic - covering everything from iconic landmarks like Mt. Fuji, Fushimi Inari, and Tokyo Skytree to cultural traditions like tea ceremony, kabuki, and sumo. Each pictogram is crafted from circles, squares, and basic geometric shapes accentuated with curved lines, achieving a universal aesthetic that is both simple and highly functional. Icons work across paper, digital displays, and outdoor signage, and can be freely reversed (black/white) or recolored. Version 1.6.0 also includes "My London Pictogram" featuring iconic London landmarks. Available in SVG and PNG formats with a Figma community file. Free for personal and commercial use with no attribution required.
