Bitcoin Icons
An open-source set of 250 icons built specifically for Bitcoin applications. Features both outline and filled styles at 24x24, with React, Vue, and raw SVG npm packages. MIT licensed.
Bitcoin Icons is an open-source, open-design icon set created by the Bitcoin Design Community specifically for Bitcoin-centric applications. The collection includes general interface icons that most apps need - like arrows, a home icon, and navigation elements - alongside uniquely Bitcoin-specific icons such as wallets, keys, miners, Lightning Network symbols, and Bitcoin currency marks.\n\nThe set contains approximately 125 unique icon designs, each available in two styles: outline and filled, bringing the total to 250 SVG icons. All icons use a 24x24 pixel grid and are designed in Figma, with the source available as a public Figma community file. A companion Figma plugin allows designers to browse and insert icons directly within their design workflow.\n\nFor developers, Bitcoin Icons offers multiple integration paths. Three npm packages are published under the @bitcoin-design scope: @bitcoin-design/bitcoin-icons-react for React applications (supporting both filled and outline imports), @bitcoin-design/bitcoin-icons-vue for Vue 3 projects, and @bitcoin-design/bitcoin-icons-svg for raw SVG access via JavaScript. All component imports use upper camel case naming with an Icon suffix (e.g., BitcoinIcon, WalletIcon, KeyIcon). The repository also contains both raw SVG exports from Figma and SVGO-optimized versions for production use.\n\nBitcoin Icons is a sister project of the Bitcoin Wallet UI Kit, both created by GBKS (Christoph Ono), a prominent contributor to the Bitcoin Design Community. The community itself is a free, open-source resource for designers, developers, and others working on non-custodial bitcoin products. Their broader efforts include the Bitcoin Design Guide, the Bitcoin Core App design process, and initiatives around Taproot adoption, unified QR codes, and BOLT 12.\n\nThe project is being considered for integration into the Bitcoin Core GUI, which would bring these icons to the official Bitcoin wallet application. Key contributors include GBKS (design lead), sbddesign (Stephen DeLorme), johncantrell97, and Bosch-0.\n\nIcon categories span general UI elements (arrows, navigation, status indicators), Bitcoin-specific symbols (Bitcoin logo variants, satoshi symbol, wallet, keys, mining), Lightning Network icons, transaction and payment icons, security icons (lock, shield, fingerprint), and communication icons. The collection continues to grow through community contributions and Figma-based design reviews.
