Akar Icons is a perfectly rounded icon library created by Arturo Wibawa (artcoholic), designed for designers, developers, and pretty much everyone. The library features 377 carefully crafted icons with a distinctive rounded aesthetic that brings a friendly, approachable feel to user interfaces. Every icon is free to use in personal and commercial projects under the MIT license.\n\nThe icons are built on a 24x24 SVG grid with a consistent outline stroke style. What sets Akar Icons apart is the attention to optical alignment - icons are sized based on visual perception rather than rigid bounding boxes, ensuring each icon looks balanced alongside the others. The library has earned over 400 GitHub stars across its repositories.\n\nAkar Icons offers multiple integration methods. The React component package (npm i akar-icons) provides named imports for each icon with configurable inline props for color, size, and strokeWidth, plus support for inline style objects. The icon fonts package (npm i akar-icons-fonts) works like Font Awesome - add a single script tag to your document head from the unpkg CDN and reference icons with the ai- class prefix. Icon fonts can be styled with standard CSS properties.\n\nThe ecosystem extends through community packages: akar-icons-svelte for Svelte projects, akar-icons-web-components for framework-agnostic web components, blade-akar-icons for Laravel Blade views, and akar_icons_flutter for Flutter applications. The library is also indexed on Iconify for universal icon framework access.\n\nAll SVG source files are available in the akar-icons-app repository. The akaricons.com website provides a visual browser to explore, search, and copy icons. Icons span common UI categories including navigation arrows, alignment tools, media controls, social and brand logos, communication, devices, file management, and interface elements.\n\nThe library started with 208 SVG icons in its first release and has grown steadily. Version 1.8.6 introduced developer brand icons bringing the total to 345, and the latest stable release (v1.9.14) contains 377 icons. The project has been actively maintained since its launch in 2020.
